Ok, I am hooked on Breaking Bad, who isn’t? But aren’t we getting a little tired of the whole drug-based TV series? It seems that because they used pot on the show Weeds, heroine in The Wire, and alcoholism in basically every television show, they were like “oh hey, we haven’t done one about meth yet!”
But even though the whole middle class American who deals drugs has been done before, the New Mexican setting and the comical plot developments and the twists it takes have helped make the show as awesome as it is. The characters are wonderfully plain and normal but at the same time intriguing. Now in it’s fourth season, the show displays a facet of suburban America where there truly is an ever-present problem with meth. It’s brutal and very well done.
