I don’t think there is a better place to host a sundowners party than in the sub-tropical city of Durban. Situated on the east coast of South Africa, the port city is one of the countries premiere destinations over the festive season, which happens to fall in the summer holidays. It is no wonder then that Good Sundae’s party on Christmas day was chocked with holiday-makers from all parts of the country.
In line with its name, Good Sundae is a weekly event held on Sundays. The event is hosted in different venues around the city. For the Christmas edition, the organizers went with Blvd nightclub, a revamped Victorian mansion with a downstairs veranda, where everyone seemed to be lounging around tables full of bottled spirits, looking merry and grooving to the mixture of hip hop and house tunes.
In less than a year the brand has grown considerably to become one of, if not Durban’s most popular sundowners events. Good Sundae has managed to tap into the laid back mood that the city is known for. The simple concept of “Good people and Good music” has certainly created Good vibes all round.
