I haven’t fallen for an album like this in quite sometime, but I am totally crushed out over Frank Ocean’s debut record, channel ORANGE. I mean I am soooo into this album I would marry it if I could. And I am so awe of Ocean’s nuanced lyrics and gorgeous voice. All that plus he’s got the balls to come out publicly in the face of crazy homophobia in the music industry. Could it be that pop music is changing, getting less crappy, braver, and more honest?? Maybe. Thank you, Frank.
Frank Ocean on Jimmy Fallon
His spot on Jimmy Fallon, doing “Bad Religion” with a full string orchestra killed me, “Pyramids” is my new slow jam favorite and I’m making everyone I know listen to “Forrest Gump” because this is just too good to keep to myself.
I had to miss his Austin show, but apparently he opened with a Prince cover and closed with Beyonce. Swoon.
