Mexico City is so big and so varied that its inhabitants can go on vacations without leaving the city limits. But, where does one spend the night? That’s not a problem.
Diego tells me that his Bed & Breakfast is getting more local guests who have decided to visit the area on the weekends. He’s talking about El Patio 77 in San Rafael. “They come from neighbourhoods in the southern area of the city, and stay overnight”.
El Patio 77 is an environmentally friendly Bed & Breakfast, well served and with no TVs. Some compare it to La Buena Vida on Mazatlán Street in Condesa neighbourhood, but their concept is definitely different. It’s a boutique hostel celebrated by foreigners, but also by local residents who decide to spend their weekends there with their partners. Another hostel with a similar style is The Red Three House on Culiacán, also in Condesa, where locals who’d rather not drive home at night usually stay. Good for them.

Escapadas de fin de semana en la ciudad
La Ciudad de México es tan grande, y sobre todo tan variada, que sus habitantes pueden vacacionar en ella. Pero ¿dónde pasar la noche? Ese no es ningún problema.
Diego me cuenta que en su bed & breakfast cada vez se quedan más locales que deciden recorrer la zona los fines de semana. Se refiere a El Patio 77, en la colonia San Rafael. “Llegan de colonias al Sur del DF, y se quedan a dormir aquí”.
El Patio 77 es un bed & breakfast ecológico, bien atendido y sin televisiones. Algunos lo comparan con La Buena Vida, en la calle de Mazatlán, en la colonia Condesa, pero ciertamente el concepto es otro. Se trata de un hostal boutique muy celebrado entre extranjeros, pero también entre defeños que vienen con sus parejas a pasar el fin de semana. Otro hostal por el estilo es The Red Three House, en Culiacán, también en la Condesa, en el que suelen hospedarse locales que prefieren no manejar tarde a sus casas. Bien por ellos.
