Old Becomes New (again)

I have commented enough on my predictable music tastes that it seems … not worth mentioning. But, again, I find myself listening to things that sound like things I already listen to. A favorite new release is Golden Birthday’s album Blue Island. Similar to their other releases, which are equally delightful, the new album has a standout track for me in the form of Fountain, which sounds like a track excised from The Comsat Angels’ album Land, which is, as far as I am concerned, a good thing.

John Maus also had an LP release of remastered demos and things, in the form of an LP called, appropriately A Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material. Of course, almost all of these songs are easily downloadable (along with many others), but obviously this is aimed at people, like me, who would prefer to listen to the songs on vinyl. And who couldn’t use more translucent marbled pink vinyl in their life?
