Since their debut as a sports footwear in the ’70s, when they were worn for the first time by the tennis icon from which they get the name, Stan Smith, they experienced such an escalation that they entered directly into the Olympus of the best-selling Adidas, with over 40 million pairs of shoes sold.

The comeback was celebrated with an event in Shanghai and with the presentation of a video in which celebrities from the world of sport, music, art and fashion came together to reveal what these sneakers mean for them. The spot includes anecdotes of actors such Will Arnett, Max Greenfield and Ana Girardot, they interviewed also the tennis star Andy Murray and musicians like Sky Ferreira and Momo Wu , DJ Kim Ann Foxman and Newfoundland. Balmain has chosen Rihanna as the face of his upcoming ad campaign SS 2014.

A very good decision since the popstar has all the ingredients that can best represent the essence of the house. Her being damn sexy, transgressive and rock gently make her the perfect embodiment of the style of Olivier Rousteing.
It was the one who posted the first images taken by Inez & Vinoodh on his Instagram. Proving once again that even the prestigious fashion labels have now abandoned the classic style to dialogue with young people through social networks. And the choice of Rihanna is absolutely in line with this path. Fashion is rock.

“In front of the lens she makes you believe that she is the only girl in the world. When the woman who inspires you wear your creations, well, your vision is complete,” says Mr. Rousteing, the creative director of Balmain.

Now, one shoe brand has won against the others, using Kate Moss as the face of their campaign for the second time. The super model is now the testimonial for Stuart Weitzman adv spring / summer 2014.

Stuart Weitzman did already manage to persuade the notoriously reserved model to smile and even reveal something more about herself in their fashion video some months ago.

The campaign shows her laying on a chaise-longue, a picture in black and white where Kate wears a pair of wonderful brand sandals: the picture was taken by her long time friend Mario Testino, who was the author of Kate’s wedding portfolio as well.

“There were made six pictures and we had to repeat only one,” says Weitzman people. “This shows how much they work well together.”

There are infinite possibilities coming from 3D printing, and once it will perfectly work, we won’t print a traditional item but most likely the weirdest thing we can imagine, food-related or not.Scientists believe that technology will enable us to print molecules that can produce tasty meals. However, we’re still a long way off printing hamburgers at home and we must remember that only a viable market will push companies to pursue and providing funds for the technology.

I lately overheard a quite interesting rumor that John Talabot is about to publish a volume of his historical DJ Kicks series. No confirmation yet arrived anywhere, but there are high chances that the news are true. If they are, the mix should be available around the 15th of October.

Meanwhile, we know that John is launching his own radio program on Spanish Radio 3, paired with partner Franc Sayol. It is titled “El Ritmo Infinity,” and will consist of one hour per week (Saturday from 7 pm to 8 pm) of selections by the two DJs, ranging from pop, hip-hop and electronica with an eye to everything that is far from the mainstream. To all of those who are gnawing because they do not live in Spain, well it is 2013 and we got web radio!
