When high school chemistry teacher Walter White learns he has inoperable lung cancer, he decides to provide for his family long after his imminent departure the only way he can think of: Cooking methamphetamine and selling it at an enormous profit. He gets a lot more than he bargained for. This show is more addictive to watch than any other. The way it’s filmed is genius, the acting more than believable and the character development is uncanny. No detail is ever left unaccounted for.

Start watching Breaking Bad, and you’ll be hooked.

This gritty series takes place within a police unit in Baltimore, Maryland, and focuses within both the criminal and police posturing elements of the system. The series is really well-written and shines in it’s in-depth character profiling, without seeming cheesy or contrived. At first I wasn’t into it, but it grew on me over time. Now getting into the second season, the characters are fulfilling different roles due to previous error in the chain-of-commands. It’s worth watching.

I may be late in the game, but I just recently got into the show ‘the Tudors’ on Showtime. Jonathan Rys Meyers stars as the brutish, arrogant and forceful young King Henry, and the semi-historically accurate [with some passionate fiction thrown in] show is now taking over all my damn free time, of which there is precious little already.
The show centers around King Henry’s court, unhappy marriage to the beloved Queen Katherine, and subsequent obsession with the young and cunning Anne Boleyn, as well as the corruption of the church run by his entrusted Cardinal, Wollsey. The opulence of the show addicts a fashion demon such as myself, as well as the successful tension building up to climactic scenes.

I saw the film first, and started watching the series second, but either which way, you’ll be dazzled by the merging of life, love, and art. I don’t want to ruin any surprises, but I was moved by the raw honesty, effort, and the idea of sharing  life for a project…
