Large franchise gyms are the most common method of burning calories in KL. But they may or may not always be effective as you’re usually left to your own devices (and not to mention, willpower).
Hence the growing popularity of personal training, which tailors exercise (and sometimes nutritional advice) to your needs. However, unless you employ a freelance trainer and find a suitable venue for your exercise session, you’d still be stuck working out at a large, impersonal fitness center, with their appointed PTs (personal trainers).

Chloe Lai had a “fire burning in her”, after having successfully lost 15 kg through sheer determination. She’d had a successful career up till then, working in large companies, but felt frustrated that she wasn’t doing her bit for the community. She wanted to be able to positively contribute to other people’s lives. After having battled and conquered her own weight problems, she wanted to continue helping others who faced the same challenge.
She started out the traditional way by being a PT at a large franchise gym. Once she was able to gain the necessary experience and certification, as well as a strong client base, she knew she had to strike out on her own.
Thus, GetActive was born. Although it takes pride in being ” a company that prides itself with a team of internationally-certified trainers who provide safe and effective fitness training”, one just has to take a step into its cozy yet well-equipped Base (as its main training center is fondly called), and you get the feeling that it’s more than just that.

In fact, GetActive is unique because it brings an almost family-like feel to working out due to its select & small number of clients.
Chloe has made it a point to emphasize on the “personal” in the GetActive personal training experience. So once you sign up for a fitness package, you also sign up for:
knowing every GetActive trainer’s name, and them all knowing yours; personalised training programmes, which include nutrition advise, regular progress trackers and motivational extras; fun training programmes and “extra-curricular” activities, like Group Exercise Classes (at no extra cost) and special activities, like outdoor hikes & picnics (healthy cuisine only, naturally)– plus a few new workout buddies/friends too!
After all, she knows that when you feel someone else is invested in your weight loss or health journey, the chances of you sticking to it and succeeding are much higher!
